If I can add chocolate to a recipe I will do just that! After all, you can’t spoil something good by adding something good to it. And I know of nothing “gooder” than chocolate!! This is an easy to make pound cake recipe with that extra special ingredient….CHOCOLATE. Add some fresh rasberries and whipped cream and you have yourself one tasty dessert. The only thing that might possibly be better than chocolate, is chocolate combined with peanut butter. YUMMEEE!!! This was my son’s favorite treat as a boy and I always made it for him on his birthday. As a matter of fact, he is a grown man now, and I still make it on his birthday and on his son’s birthday too. This is actually a new addition to my recipe box. About a year ago I was at a graduation party for my nephew and this cake was on the dessert table. It was about the richest chocolate cake I had ever tasted. It took me 2 hours, but I finally tracked down the young lady responsible for such a sinfully delicious concoction and begged her for the recipe. This Chocolate Chip Cake recipe is very easy to make. It is a basic pound cake recipe with 1 cup of chocolate chips added. However, do not restrict yourself to the basic chocolate chips. Try using white chocolate chips, or peanut butter chocolate chips. Even mixing in a cup of nuts with the chocolate chips works well. I like using white chocolate chips and crushed macadamian nuts served with some slice up pineapple or pineapple sorbet for a Hawaiian flair. Read the rest of this entry »

This cake is called a chocolate “dump” cake because all you need is 1 bowl. All the ingredients get “dumped” into that one bowl, mixed, and then poured into a pan for baking. This is, as the name implies, a quick and easy recipe. I make it for my grandchildrens’ birthdays. Feel free to decorate this cake any way you like. Read the rest of this entry »
