Flourless Chocolate Cake

For those of you who can’t tolerate wheat gluten or wheat here is a delicious alternative. Flourless chocolate cake is a delicious and easy chocolate cake recipe to make. This chocolate cake tastes especially wonderful topped with some fresh rasberries.

Ingredients
18 -1 ounce squares of bittersweet chocolate
1/2 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup of sugar
1 cup of butter
6 eggs
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees
Grease 1 10-inch cake pan
Over medium heat, combine the salt, sugar and the water in a saucepan. Stir until the sugar and salt have dissolved. Set aside
In a double boiler met the chocolate. Transfer the chocolate to a mixing bowl
Cut the butter into small pieces and using a mixer, beat the butter into the chocolate 1 piece at a time. Add the water/sugar mixture and beat well. Finally, beat in each egg one at a time.
Pour the batter into the greased cake pan.
Place the cake pan in a larger pan and fill with boiling water halfway up the sides of the cake pan.
Place the cake pan in the larger water filled pan into the oven (300 degrees) and bake for 45 minutes. Don’t worry , the center will still appear wet when it is done.
Chill the cake overnight in the pan.
To get the cake out of the pan, dip the bottom of the cake pan in hot water for 10 seconds and invert onto a serving dish.
Top with fresh whipped cream and rasberries for an extra special treat.
